Unable to Edit Project Owner Field

We have seen customers running into issues updating the Project Owner field in Project Online and in Project Server 2013 with October 2015 CU. You will be able to select the Project Owner on the Project Details Page and save the PDP successfully. However if you go back to Project Center view, you will still see the OLD Project Owner Name.

This issue seems to be resolved for Project Online as I am unable to reproduce the issue now. If you still facing this issue in Project Online or Project Server 2013 then you can try below workaround to update the Project Owner.

  1. Open the Project in Edit mode.
  2. Access the PDP and update the Project Owner.
  3. At the same time update any other Custom Field on the same PDP.
  4. Save the changes.

In some cases you can try below options to narrow down the issue and check if it helps.

  1. Add the Project Owner custom field on some other PDP and check if you can update it from that PDP.
  2. Remove the Project Owner custom field from the PDP >> Save the PDP >> add the Project Owner Field back >> Save the PDP and check if that helps.
