Description of Microsoft Project 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Microsoft Project 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides the latest updates for Project 2013. This service pack includes two kinds of fixes:
- Previously unreleased fixes that are included in this service pack. In addition to general product fixes, these fixes include improvements in stability, performance, and security.
- All the monthly security updates that were released through January 2014, and all the Cumulative Updates that were released through December 2013.

How to determine whether you have SP1 installed
In order to determine whether SP1 is already installed, you can look for the program version in the list of installed programs in the Programs and Features Control Panel item. If SP1 is installed, the version will be 15.0.4569.1506 or higher. Additionally, if you have installed the SP1 update for a Windows Installer (MSI) product, SP1 will be listed in Installed Updates in that same Control Panel item.
You can also open Project Professional 2013. Click on Account in the Backstage, and click the About Project button. You will see the About Microsoft window.

How to obtain and install the service pack
Method 1: Microsoft Update (recommended)
To download the service pack from Microsoft Update, go to the following Microsoft website:
(http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx)
You can opt in a computer to the Microsoft Update service, and then register that service with the Automatic updates to receive the SP1 update. Microsoft Update will detect which products that you have installed, and then apply all updates to the products.
