Project Server Business Intelligence Performance Point Report Filtering
Good Day Folks,
We recently completed a very successful Business Intelligence Reporting Certification Series and we have received many accolades and a few follow-up questions. Thank you all for your feedback and questions. One particular question is included in this post. Let us know if you have any additional Project Server Reporting questions.
Question:Â Â When creating Performance Point reports, can you limit the drill-down options/fields displayed?
It sounds like you what to remove certain ‘fields’ that are displayed in the PerfPoint BI reports when you right-click to drill into the data – is that correct?
If so, while your suggestion to create additional cubes does provide some control over the fields included, it may not provide enough control. You can experiment with it to see if it accomplishes the goal you are looking for. Alternatively you may have more control by creating custom SSRS (SQL Reporting Services) reports, or configuring the Excel data connections with a query. If the cube does not provide you the ‘lock down’ you are looking for, we recommend looking at Excel first (as it is easier to create). An SSRS report will allow you the ability to set your own fields, etc.
