
Microsoft Planner Updates – February 2025
In February 2025, Microsoft Planner introduced several enhancements aimed at improving task management and collaboration. Here’s a summary of the latest features:
AI Capabilities with Project Manager Agent
- European Launch: The AI-powered Project Manager agent is now available in Europe, following its initial release in North America and Asia-Pacific.
- Task Generation from PDFs: Users can upload PDF files to automatically generate and complete tasks, streamlining workflow processes.
- Enhanced Collaboration: With a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, users can now view and comment on content generated by the Project Manager agent, fostering better teamwork.
- Automatic Task Dependencies: Tasks generated by the agent now include dependencies, recommending the order of execution. These can be visualized in the Timeline view.
- Integration with Microsoft Teams: Plans generated by the Project Manager agent can now be initiated directly within Microsoft Teams channels, enhancing integration and accessibility.
Planner Enhancements
- Custom Backgrounds: Users can now personalize basic plans with custom backgrounds, making it easier to distinguish between projects. This feature can be accessed through the Plan details section.
- Board View in My Day and My Tasks: The Board view is now available in My Day and My Tasks, allowing for a more visual task management experience.
- Join Public Plans: Plans created in public groups now feature a Join button, enabling users to easily add themselves to the plan.
- Undo Task Deletion: Users can now recover recently deleted tasks by pressing CTRL + Z or selecting the Undo option that appears after deletion.
