What is New in Microsoft Planner March 2025

Microsoft Planner has introduced several updates in March 2025 to enhance task management and user experience. Here’s a summary of the key features:

1. Reorder Columns in Basic Plans

Users can now customize their task organization by reordering columns in basic plans. This feature, previously exclusive to premium plans, is accessible across all Grid views. To rearrange columns, simply drag the column headers or use the keyboard shortcuts CTRL+Shift+< and CTRL+Shift+>.

2. Display All Due Date Categories

The Board view’s ‘Group by Due Date’ now displays all categories—Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, and Future—even if no tasks are assigned. This comprehensive overview aids in better planning by visualizing all time frames.

3. Persistent Filters in Premium Plans

Premium plan users can now have their applied filters saved across sessions. This means your preferred filters remain active even after logging out and back in, ensuring consistency and saving time.

4. Default View Fix for Basic Plans

An issue has been resolved where opening a basic plan did not default to the Board view. With this fix, basic plans will consistently open in the Board view as intended.

These enhancements reflect Microsoft’s commitment to improving Planner based on user feedback. Users are encouraged to share their thoughts and suggestions through the Feedback button in the app or via the Planner Feedback Portal.
