Earned Value and Baselines – Microsoft Project 2013

So you want to learn about or use Earned Value and Microsoft Project.  Where do you start?  The 1st place is here.

What you need to know

  1. You must have your current baseline set on your Project
  2. Your Resources must have rates (even if you have $1/hr for the standard rate)
  3. You have to have some progress (actuals) on your project
  4. You need to understand a little bit about Earned Value

I recently did a session on this and here are my tips.  Thanks to Laith Adel’s MPUG article:  http://www.mpug.com/articles/earned-value-demystified/ – I was able to reuse his examples.

Thanks.  Got questions, ask us.
